Gerardo Martinez provided a two-day training, Disability History and Civil Rights in the U.S., to 20 Latinx parents of children with disabilities on March 2 and 3.
Alianzas was invited to provide the information as the first session of the new Compañeros Haciendo Estatutos, a Latinx version of Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council’s (MODDC) Partners in Policymaking course.
Gerardo will also present at the final session in July as part of a panel discussion.
The program is coordinated by Community Partners of the Ozarks and ALAS Leadership and Advocacy Project.
