Ambassador Program
Through education, outreach and engagment at the local level, Alianzas Ambassadors help fulfill the mission to strengthen Latino communities by building partnerships between residents, MU Extension, community organizations and their resources — across Missouri.

Primary Functions
Cultural Competence
Providing professional development on cultural intelligence and intercultural communication skills to increase efficacy.
Community Connections
Connecting Latino residents to educational programs and MU and community resources to build capacity.
Collaboration
Building partnerships with local leaders and organizations to create more inclusive and welcoming communities.
Key Activities
- Provide translation and interpretation services.
- Facilitate community outreach programs.
- Organize training workshops and conferences.
- Share education opportunities and public resources with Latino families.
- Support community partnerships and leadership development.
Regions
Ambassadors are currently located in 27 counties to serve their surrounding communities throughout eight organized regions across Missouri.
Northwest
Buchannan and Saline counties

St. Louis, St. Charles and Jefferson counties

Cass, Johnson and Pettis counties

Become an Ambassador
Are you enthusiastic about community, culture and connection?
Serving as an Alianzas Ambassador, you will:
- Grow as a community leader by organizing and attending local events and outreach efforts that reflect the culture-specific needs in your area.
- Expand your network by building relationships with other Ambassadors and MU Extension specialists while growing connections with community members, leaders and organizations.
- Play a meaningful role in connecting people to resources and sharing information about MU Extension programs and learning opportunities.
- Help shape future programs and initiatives through constructive feedback and insights.
These honorary positions serve in three-year terms. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.
