Fiscal Year 09
In May 2009, NE Regional Extension Faculty and Milan Centro Latino staff met to explore the possibility of a summer youth program. There is a need for curriculum development that specifically meets the needs of Hispanic youth in Milan. This opportunity was discussed with the Statewide 4-H Specialist for further consideration and the need for collaboration with the regional staff was reiterated.

Year 06-07
In December 2006, Alianzas awarded $2,994.94 to support and facilitate the
integration and education of "Steps to a Healthier You" for Hispanic/Latino
populations in Kirksville and Milan.
Fiscal Year
05-06
In February 2006, Alianzas awarded $3,000 to support partnerships for the
Hispanic/Latino Community Leadership Academy in Sullivan County, which was primarily geared
to Hispanic/Latino students in grades 9-11 who showed potential as community leaders.
As a result, participants were afforded the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to more effectively and efficiently identify the needs of their community and develop an action plan to address them.
